Columbus Kashrut is overseen and certified by Buckeye Kosher. The rabbinic board of Buckeye Kosher consists of the rabbis from the three Orthodox synagogues: Rabbis Claman, Goldstein & Zack, the Rosh Kollel, Rabbi Henoch Morris and is administered by RabbI Josh Finegold.

MIKVAH

The Columbus Community Mikvah is a modern, beautiful facility recently built in 2017. The Kashrut of the mikvah is overseen by the rabbis from the three Orthodox synagogues: Rabbis Claman, Goldstein & Zack, the Rosh Kollel, Rabbi Henoch Morris and was initially constructed under the supervision of Rabbi Moshe Heineman shlit"a of Baltimore, MD.

ERUV

Generally speaking, the Eruv of Columbus includes Berwick, Bexley and Eastmoor. Originally constructed by Rabbi David Stavsky zt"l and overseen by Rabbi Shimon Eider zt"l, the Kashrut of the eruv is currently overseen by the rabbis from the three Orthodox synagogues: Rabbis Claman, Goldstein & Zack, the Rosh Kollel, Rabbi Henoch Morris and is periodically reviewed by Rabbi Moshe Heineman shlit"a of Baltimore, MD.

DAY SCHOOL

Columbus Torah Academy is Columbus' modern orthodox k-12 Jewish Day School. Situated on 42 wooded acres, CTA's state-of-the-art campus and outstanding faculty provide an exceptional Jewish and secular educational experience for children in our community from all backgrounds. Established in 1958, CTA is led by Rabbi Avrohom Drandoff, Head of School and continues to be the centerpiece of our community.

Columbus Community Kollel

Founded in 1994 under the leadership of Rabbi Henoch Morris of Ner Israel Rabbinical College, the Columbus Community Kollel serves all aspects of our community. From beginners to yeshiva graduates, the kollel has classes, chavrusas and a vibrant Beis Medrash open to all.

While there are many hotels within a 15 minute drive of the Jewish community, such as near the airport or downtown, for a Shabbat stay within the eruv the best option is the Bexley Bed and Breakfast.

JEWISH DIVORCE

The Columbus Orthodox Bet Din executes its gitten or writs of Jewish divorce by Rabbi Yirmiyahu Benyowitz shlit"a, who also oversees the gitten perfromed by the Baltimore Bais Din

According to Jewish law, it is of the greatest importance and is considered one of the most important mitzvot, for a person who is having a civil divorce to have a Jewish divorce as well. This is called a get in Hebrew. Click here for a brief introduction to Jewish divorce.
